The Ford Explorer looks rugged yet stylish. It measures 193.4 inches in length and stands on a wheelbase that measures 113.7 inches. The Eddie Bauer comes with an attractive grille, featuring a chrome 3-bar design with nostrils, while the XLT and the Limited feature an attractive chrome 4-bar design grille. Auto lamp on/off delay headlamps are standard on the Eddie Bauer and Limited. All trims come standard with power fold-away outside mirrors, center high-mounted incandescent stoplight, fog lamps, and roof-side rails. Also standard is a one-piece lift-gate, hinged at the top with a flip-open rear window. The Eddie Bauer and Limited trims also feature running boards. The Eddie Bauer and Limited trims feature a body-color body-side molding. All trims come standard with wheel-lip moldings, with a difference of colors. The XLT features black, Eddie Bauer comes with Pueblo Gold, while the Limited possesses body-color wheel-lip molding. All trims come standard with solar tinted windshield and front door windows, and an enhanced privacy glass on the rear door, rear quarter, and lift-gate window. A power moon-roof with shade and heated windshield are optional on all trims of the Ford Explorer. The XLT and Ironman trims come standard with 16-inch painted aluminum wheels. These trims are also available with the option of 17-inch machined aluminum wheels. Eddie Bauer rolls on 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, while the Limited glides on 18-inch machined aluminum wheels. 18-inch chrome clad aluminum wheels are optional on the Eddie Bauer as well as Limited. The XLT and Ironman are available with the option of 18-inch machined aluminum wheels. Different trims of the Explorer are available with different optional packages. The XLT is available with the optional XLT Appearance Package. It includes color-keyed front and rear fascias, color-keyed wheel-lip moldings, black running boards, 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, 17-inch all-season outline white letter (OWL) tires, and a unique film on door bezels.
